Do you travel outside Nottinghamshire for weddings?
Yes I do. Any work commissioned outside of Nottinghamshire will add extra costs for travel and accommodation if needed. Travel and accommodation costs will be kept as low as possible.
What cameras do you use?
I use professional Nikon DSLR cameras.
How soon do we need to reserve our date?
As soon as possible. People are different in how far they choose to book ahead but the best way to guarantee I’m free for your day is to ask me to save the date.
How will we reserve our wedding date?
Once you’ve signed your contract or your retainer contract and I’ve got it, your date is then fully reserved and I won’t accept any other clients for that date. The balance will be due 10 days prior to the wedding date.
Do you offer off-season reductions or weekday discounts?
Sometimes, depending on bookings and individual couple’s circumstances so please contact me with your request.
Can we pay part before and part after the wedding?
You can pay your deposit to save the date and then the rest of the balance will be due 10 days before your wedding.
What happens when we’ve made our booking and paid a deposit to save our date?
I will start the start pre-wedding consultations leading up to the day. This will include sending you a questionnaire to look over and fill in in your own time. Then we can arrange a face to face meeting. This could be at the Wedding venue itself if this would work out for both parties or in another place of your choice if it is within reasonable travelling distance. We could always Skype and speak on the phone too! If you have also chosen the additional option of the Soul Engagement or Before your Wedding Day Shoot), we can get to know each other better then too!
We live out of town, how will this affect our consultations?
It is great to be able to meet up before the day where possible, but sometimes busy schedules and distance may prevent that, so we can use Skype, email, phone and relatives (if you wish) that live closer.
What time will you be arriving on the day?
It depends on which parts of your day you wish to keep private, and which you are ready to have photographed. Some brides like to be photographed getting ready – hair, make-up, dress, atmosphere, friends and relatives around etc. The timing is at your discretion – usually about 1 hour before you travel to your wedding venue if you wish to have preparation photographs.
If you would like me simply to arrive at the venue, then it will be no less than 45 minutes before the Wedding. We can create the photography schedule to suit your wedding and the time of day in terms of light, events etc. The bridal portrait session can happen before or after the ceremony as you wish. We can tailor the photography to work organically with your needs and the plan for the ceremony, celebrations, etc.
How about group and family photography on the day?
I am happy to work with your requirements and can make some suggestions during the planning of who to photograph together and where (when I have studied a plan of the venue, light sources and weather!) If you can update me on your guest list, that will help me to see what would work. A whole group photograph is always fun to do together as well as close family and friends.
It is very helpful if we can find a family member or friend who could act as an Usher to gather groups of people according to the list we have made so that I can really focus on the photography.
Keeping the group images simple and focused allows more time for the more creative portraits of the bride and groom.
How long will you stay with us on our wedding day?
This will depend on the wedding package booked, or on our pre-arranged time schedule. If you would like the reception or wedding celebrations to be photographed as part of your day, I will stay for the key moments of the reception (state which ones they are for you and when they will happen) and then I will leave when I feel I have a great collection of photographs that tell your story.
How long will it take to receive our photographs?
Your images will be ready within 8 weeks of your wedding. I will initially upload the images onto a password protected website gallery for you to view, and share with friends and family. If you’d like certain friends and family to be able to order prints and digital downloads, I can also enable that.
Will the images be edited before presentation?
All images are individually assessed for colour and tone, and edited appropriately to reflect the atmosphere and true colours of the day. As I am a creative photographer, I often use my artistic license with some images in addition to the original to bring out any special feeling or atmosphere that I connect with as part of working with you. We can talk about this as part of the consultation and you can also give me freedom to flow with what I see as a part of your day.
Do we get all our images in high resolution on a USB to print from?
Yes, you will receive a USB in the post, recorded delivery in addition to viewing them on the secure website gallery. The USB will include full size images and a file of lower resolution water marked images for social media and email.
What additional products can be ordered?
Fine art prints, bespoke framing and wedding albums. You are welcome to commission me to create a bespoke wedding portfolio for you. You can order your prints and photographic products via this website from the password protected online gallery. Family and friends can have access to your gallery.
Who owns the copyright on the photographs you make at our wedding?
As a professional creative wedding photographer, I own the intellectual property and copyright for the photographs as this is where my unique artistic skill and equipment meets your world. I will of course provide a USBwith your full sized digital photographs. You are of course licensed to own your USB (this is the contract that I am to make photographs of your wedding for you to keep) so, you can store the images on file and print from them for your personal use as many times as you need to – for example, you can create your own photograph album or prints. However I will own the intellectual property rights as I brought my artistic skills and equipment to meet your event. Please note that within the contract, you're not permitted to edit, crop or change the photographs in any way as this would be adapting my work.
You may wish to share your images via social media and email. I will provide a separate file on the disc with lower resolution, water marked images for use with social media sites and email. This is done so that both myself as a professional photographer and you in the photographs of your day are protected from what can sometimes happen via the internet: once high resolution images are shared in the public domain, they can be downloaded, taken, sold and used to create or market products. With a watermark and at lower resolution, you can still share them, but both parties are protected.
Will you use photographs from our wedding on your website or publicity?
I will provide a consent form for you and your loved one to sign to confirm that you are happy for photographs I have made to be a part of my portfolio and that I can share them. I do own the copyright to them and they are my intellectual property as an artist but I only share images if you are happy for me to do so. I fully respect that the photographs are of you and your family and if they are part of my portfolio, I like them to sit there in good spirits!
Are you CRB checked?
Yes, I have an up to date CRB check. This has also been done as part of my work in the past when working in schools with children and in the National Health Service.
Do you photograph anything else in addition to weddings?
Absolutely. I love to make photographs of family, pets, maternity, new born and everyday life. You are most welcome to contact me to invite me back in to see what happened next with your soul connection!.....
If we want to recommend you, what’s in it for us?
If you recommend my work and they book, I will offer you a free and beautiful poster size art print of your choice from your wedding photographs. Please ask any friends or family who intend to book to name you and I will contact you to arrange your thank your gift.
